Since 1992 Matlock Gilbert & Sullivan Society has been performing the operettas by G&S and other works in concert in a variety of locations around the Derbyshire Dales.

Music (& Props) for Hire

We are fortunate to have a member of the society (Max Taylor) who has arranged and composed music specifically for our society to perform, and we are able offer some of this music for hire.

These arrangements include reduced orchestrations for: The Zoo, The Sorcerer, The Yeomen of the Guard, Merrie England & most recently Haddon Hall

A Welcome to New Members & Friends

We are a small, but very friendly, sociable group who look forward to welcoming new people of all ages as performing/non-performing members (or musicians to accompany us).

Although the works of Gilbert & Sullivan provide the main focus of our dramatic activities in the early Spring-Summer - next year's production to be Iolanthe - throughout the years we perform a varied repertoire of other musical styles (with music ranging from Mozart to "The Beatles") and works contemporary to G&S in concert performances throughout the year all over North Derbyshire, including Chatsworth.
